About InstantIndexNow

A submission tool for webmasters and SEO professionals that tells you the truth about whether a submission will be honoured.

What is this?

InstantIndexNow implements the IndexNow protocol, an open standard developed by Microsoft Bing. It lets you notify search engines directly when you publish or update content: skipping the wait for crawlers to find it organically. If you are new to it, start with what IndexNow is and how it helps SEO.

How it works

1

Generate an IndexNow key

We create one, or you use your own. 8–128 characters of letters, numbers and dashes.

2

Host the key file

Upload a simple text file to your domain to prove ownership.

3

Submit URLs

We check the key file, then notify the global endpoint or each engine you picked.

Key features

  • Key file verified before anything is submitted
  • Global endpoint, or each engine individually with per-engine results
  • Up to 10,000 URLs per batch, deduplicated automatically
  • Text input or file upload (.txt, .csv)
  • Host mismatches caught before they reach an engine
  • Free to use without an account
  • IndexNow key generation built in

Paid plans add automatic sitemap watching, an authenticated API and retained delivery records: see pricing.

Why we built it this way

Most IndexNow submission tools show a green tick as soon as an engine returns 202 Accepted. That status means almost nothing: the global endpoint, Bing and Yandex all return it for any well-formed key, including keys that were never published anywhere. The engine checks the key file later, and if it is missing, the submission is dropped with no notification. The tool said it worked; nothing happened.

So we fetch the key file ourselves before submitting, and refuse to submit if it does not resolve. A green result here means the one precondition you can actually verify has been verified.

What we do and do not claim

  • We use the protocol as specified. The exact endpoints and payload formats published at indexnow.org, with no proprietary layer in between. You can see every engine's raw status code in the results.
  • We verify before submitting. Your key file is fetched and checked first, because the engines that answer 202 do not check it until later and never tell you when it fails.
  • We do not submit to Google. Google does not participate in IndexNow. No tool can change that, and anything advertising otherwise is misleading you.
  • We cannot promise indexing. IndexNow speeds up discovery. Whether an engine indexes the page is its own judgement about your content, and no submission tool influences that.
  • We do keep records. Submissions are stored so paid plans can show a delivery history and detect breakage. What is stored, and for how long, is set out in the privacy policy. There are no advertising trackers on this site. Google Analytics measures page traffic and nothing more; it never sees your key or your submitted URLs.
